This is another one of those things that seems to have homeowners pretty stumped. It is because we are always looking for ways to help our kids learn together. I really appreciate their suggestions, but they are so wrong.
Learning is an incredibly difficult thing. It’s something that we’ve all been doing for years, and yet it is only now that we’re starting to understand the importance of this. But, we have to remember that what we are learning, is something we’re very aware of and is affecting us in ways we do not realize. Asking our kids to learn at different times is like asking them to take a test at different times, or to get a different education.
The only way to get around this is to have your kids learn at different times. So if you want to learn about the world, pick a time when you think your kids will have lots of free time to do it. The time when your kids are doing things they enjoy, they are most likely making memories, and they know what you are teaching them.
The same goes for math. You may not realize it, but you are spending lots of time in math class, and if you don’t get better, you’ll end up with a math teacher who is a math whiz but also a math snob. The math teacher would be willing to try to impress you, but he would also be a math snob. The math teacher wouldn’t be the one to tell you, You need to get better at math, but he would be the one to say, You can improve yourself with a little practice.

The good news is, if you don’t practice algebra, you never learn algebra. But you can practice algebra to improve your math skills. I learned that a little algebra means a lot.
It might sound obvious but practicing algebra is the best way to improve your math skills. As a beginner you might be missing some stuff that you need to know, but it’s still helpful to practice to learn the stuff you don’t know. This is especially true when you’re practicing with a teacher. You can go ahead and practice with your teacher but you can also learn the stuff you don’t know along the way. This is a key part of how Math is taught.
