Every year when it’s time to take a weekend trip away, I am always surprised at how many people I meet that have never been on a trip like this before. I recently took my friend’s son to the mountains to go skiing and spent time in the town I grew up in. He came back looking like he had never been to the mountains before. I had no idea that this could be possible, but I am glad it was.
The day after I returned, my friend and I took a hike up Mount Shasta from the town up to the ski resort where he lives. We were both surprised to see the mountains from such a distance, as well as some of the snow. It was a very scenic hike with the sun high in the sky and the snow still falling. The sun was up for most of the day and we were both surprised that the snow wasn’t white.
It probably looks a little different from the snow, but yes, the snow is white. It’s probably the same snow that fell the winter before, but it’s certainly not the same snow.
