Sometimes its easier to give an outline of what you want and just let them guide you in how to get there. That said, I like to ask clients to do a little bit of both. I like to ask them to come up with some ideas and some goals, as well as get a little bit of direction and direction. I like to get them to write down what they want to achieve, what they hope to achieve, and what the plan is.
